Industrial Manufacturing:
2005 – 2007: Farr Ceramics Ltd., Bangladesh; - porcelain tableware manufacturer. 18 months contract as project manager to direct the construction, plant installation and commissioning of an € 8m investment project from green field site to full operating potential. The plant included state of the art european ceramic manufacturing and processing equipment supplied largely by Samci Imola S.C. and Sama Maschinenbau GmbH
1994 - 1996: Tabor Ceramic Products SC., Ethiopia; - vitreous earthenware, sanitaryware and wall tile manufacturer. 6 month contract as technical specialist by Staffordshire Tableware Ltd.; U.K., "know-how" partner during the commissioning of the tableware section of a new factory. Responsible for: commissioning of the works laboratory and body and glaze processing departments; implementation of technical and quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing operation; training of all technical department related personnel. Short Duration Assignments:
Principally, technical and managerial troubleshooting of production operations to increase productivity and decrease production loss and/or provide specialist "know-how" support during the commissioning of new plant and processes
1999: Victoria Porcelain., Venezuela; - porcelain tableware and hotelware manufacturer. 2 month contract
1998: Royal Fernwood Porcelain Ltd., Sri Lanka; - porcelain tableware manufacturer 1 month contract

Craft Based Manufacturing:
1996 – 1997: Kilkenny Development Partners (KDP) Ltd, Southern Ireland; - project leaders for an European Union sponsered joint venture project with the Sri Lankan government. 12 month contract as ceramic specialist to provide technical, managerial and marketing support to 12 small to medium sized craft based pottery manufacturers to facilitate the production of export quality products for the European market. The manufacturer's product ranges included terracotta roofing tiles and planters, bone-china giftware, stoneware and porcelain giftware and tableware
Product Sourcing & Marketing:
2001: No name for confidentiality reasons, USA; luxury sanitaryware distributor. Contracted intermittently over an 8 month period to evaluate the potential for sourcing sanitaryware products in Mexico and for establishing a self owned manufacturing base in the country. The scope of the project involved: visiting existing sanitaryware producers and evaluating their interest in producing the product and their technical abilities to produce a high quality product within an acceptable cost framework; meeting with local government departments to obtain information regarding the requirements and the facilities offered to foreigners for establishing a manufacturing unit in Mexico; arranging visits to Mexico for the company's senior management and acting as a liason during meeting with Mexican manufacturers and government officials
Service Industries:
1989: Watson Phillips S.A. de C.V., Mexico City; (local distributors of Georgia Kaolin (US) products). 3 month part-time contract providing technical support to the sales department for clients using, or considering using, GK's products in their clay body formulations

Responsible for: coordinating the activities of on-site installation and commissioning engineers; the design, planning and supervision of commissioning handover procedures for all manufacturing operations; technical support and training of technical personnel for wall tile manufacturing

1997 – 1998: Sewa Lanka Foundation Ltd., Sri Lanka; Sewa Lanka is a Sri Lankan Non-Government Organisation with a mission to develop poverty alleviation projects for local communities and seek sponsors to financially support their projects. Contracted to work periodically over a 8 month period to: undertaken an in-depth study of rural potters involved in community based utilitarian terracotta production; to develop a project plan to provide a central training and product development unit to serve these communities through which the marketing potential of their products could be enhanced
